Industry KPI data shows higher customer acquisition costs for furniture sector

The news: The furniture category had the highest costs to acquire new US customers through paid marketing in 2024, per our Industry KPI data from AdScale. That puts it at a competitive disadvantage as tariffs drive up the price of doing business.

The cost per acquisition (CPA) for furniture came to $156.72 in 2024, markedly more than other retail categories:

  • Home and garden: $36.28
  • Electronics: $23.14
  • Food and beverage: $17.01
  • Fashion: $13.22
  • Toys and games: $10.03
  • Baby and toddler: $7.45
